Persians welcome winter by celebration of Yalda, the longest night in the year. Some other countries with the similar culture such as Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan celebrate the Yalda annually.

Traditionally, Yalda is a warm party for families and friends with a lot of hospitality. They eat nuts, watermelon, and pomegranates, drink, read poems and have fun.

Iranian graduate students at Cornell  would like to invite you all to our  celebration of Yalda night on Dec 14, 2019 at 7:00 PM-10:00 PM at 148, Stocking hall .

The dinner  will be served  so come full of energy but hungry!
