OCT. 16 GREG GREENWAY. We at Bound for Glory know him through his wonderful work with Brother Sun. But this is the first chance in many years for us to hear him solo, doing a different kind of contemporary folk, and doing it very well. Worth a special trip. Greggreenway.com.
OCT. 23 DAVE ROWE. Dave comes to us from the coast of Maine. He’s been on Bound for Glory several times, most recently as half of The Squid Jiggers, but this is his first solo show. A lot of his songs are traditional, but by no means all of them. And he presents them in a most contemporary way. Daverowemusic.com .
OCT. 30 FISHKEN AND GROVES. It’s been many years since Fishken and Groves have been on Bound for Glory. Their music can best be described as Traditionally Oriented Folk. Their songs and their harmonies sound like they’ve been with us forever, but many of the songs are really much more recent. Reverbnation/fishkengroves .
NOV. 6 MAC BEFORD AND UPSOUTH. One of the finest old timey bands of the many in these parts. Mac is a banjo wiz, who knows how to make his instrument talk. The band is both tight and very loose. And there are old songs to go along with the Appalachian dance tunes that they play so well. Macbenford.com .
NOV. 13 RICHIE AND ROSIE. Richie Stearns and Rosie Newton are a wonderful duo, playing new and old songs with an Old Timey flavor. Richie is an incredibly creative performer on the 5 string banjo, and Rosie’s fiddling can’t be beat. And they’ll be bringing along some friends. Lots of fun. Richieandrosie.com .
NOV. 20 SMALL POTATOES. Oh they’re charming. And they won the Best of Bound for Glory award a few years ago. They recorded an album on Bound for Glory. Wonderful musicianship, wonderful harmonies, and an extremely eclectic collection of songs. Great good humor. We are very glad to have them back. Smallpotatoesmusic.com .
NOV. 27 ALBUMS FROM THE STUDIOS. HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Give Phil a call at 607-273-2121.
DEC. 4 CLIFF EBERHARDT WITH LOUISE MOSRIE. Two remarkable songwriters get together for an unforgettable evening. Cliff’s songs tend to be edgy and bluesy, Louise’s songs are country flavored. But they’re both remarkable storytellers, and their songs go well together. A great ending to our fall season. Cliffeberhardt.com .
