According to Silicon Valley Bank report ^[1], 28% of U.S. startups have a female founder and 14% have a female CEO. While venture capital is their most likely next source of funding regardless of the gender makeup of the founding team, the startups with a female founder are slightly less likely to rely on them for funding. Companies founded solely by women garnered 2.1% of the total capital invested in venture-backed startups in the US ^[2].
