What if? Imagining the Diversification of Computational Social Science
Saturday, April 13, 2024 10am to 12pm
About this Event
The Cornell Center for Social Sciences is proud to present a workshop for graduate students to explore the past, present, and future of equity in computational social science (CSS). This workshop will provide a community space to reflect on what can make CSS equitable on a global scale and what Cornell can do in this process. The space will be curated by facilitators from varyCSS, an open collective of scholars who seek to advance and improve the field of CSS by centering the work of scholars from historically marginalized communities.
This event is designed for Cornell PhD students who:
1. Are involved in or interested in computational social science research, and
2. Demonstrate a commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, access, and equity in computational social science, including but not limited to those from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the discipline.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide support and development for graduate students interested in or connected to CSS, with a particular focus on equity, empowerment, and belonging.
