Identifying your local weeds can be relevant to everyone from home gardeners to landscapers, pest management specialists, allergy sufferers, and foragers of all kinds. In a live, hybrid Chats in the Stacks book talk Antonio DiTommaso, professor and Chair of the School of Integrative Plant Science Soil and Crop Sciences Section, will discuss Weeds of the Northeast, 2nd edition (Cornell University Press, 2023) a fully updated edition of the best-selling original full of lavish illustrations and detailed descriptions to aid in the identification of more than 500 common and economically important weeds in a region reaching as far south as North Carolina, as far north as Canada, and as far west as Wisconsin. Weeds of the Northeast is also a handy yet comprehensive reference for those aspects of weed biology and ecology which are most important to weed management.
This talk is hosted by Mann Library. Light refreshments will be served.
