Fact: Gun violence is the leading cause of death for U.S. children and teens.
It’s not a political statement or partisan problem…it’s a terrifying reality that every parent, caregiver, and child must navigate. But how?
June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month and we invite you to join us for a roundtable conversation with experts from Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms Demand Action, and the Be SMART program. Moderated by Care.com CEO Tim Allen, this discussion will provide actionable guidance on a range of topics, from how to talk to your kids about news coverage of school shootings to calming them (and yourselves) when they have to go through active shooter drills to how you talk with other parents about potential firearms in the home before your kids have a playdate. We’ll also cover the latest data and research about gun violence with tips you can put into action surrounding gun safety.
This is not about politics, it’s about the safety of our children. And while it’s difficult to discuss, not talking about it is worse. If you’re unable to join us on the day, please register anyway and we’ll send you a recording of the session.
These Care webinars are free to attend, and a recording will be shared afterward.
