Virtual Coronavirus and Communicable Diseases in the Workplace

Learn about best practices in work place health and safety and what can be done to protect workers on the frontline.

Nellie Brown, CIH, is the Director of Workplace Health and Safety Programs for the Worker Institute at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and works closely with WNYCOSH. She will discuss some of the following questions:

  • Why should we talk about coronavirus and other communicable diseases in the workplace?
  • What is a virus?
  • What is coronavirus?
  • How could coronavirus be acquired or spread at work?
  • Modes of disease acquisition and transmission
  • How could workplace exposure to coronavirus be prevented?
  • Hierarchy of controls for hazard reduction
  • When could we return to work after an infection?
