The Seeds of Survival and Celebration exhibit at Cornell Botanic Gardens honors the historical roots of Black agricultural traditions and plant connections. “Cultivators of Celebration” is a display within the exhibit that celebrates people who continue to safeguard and elevate the rich heritage associated with the plants showcased in “Seeds of Survival and Celebration.” In this special episode of Verdant Views, Jakara Zellner, Education Program Assistant for Cornell Botanic Gardens, will take over as host for a virtual reception for the “Cultivators of Celebration” display. Join us in appreciation of the significant individuals featured, as we virtually tour the plant collections, weaving the narratives of contemporary contributions into the tapestry and timeline of the plant knowledge highlighted in the exhibit.

Verdant Views is a videocast series, hosted by Kevin Moss of Cornell Botanic Gardens. Each episode focuses on a different topic related to plants, gardens, conservation, and the vital connections between plants and peoples around the world.
