https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/MMPSeedStarting-2_250Join our knowledgeable Horticulture Program Leader, Mila Fournier for this fun and informative class! This class will help the beginning vegetable gardener learn how to choose a site for their vegetable garden, prepare the soil, decide on starting with seeds or plants, start and transplant seeds, how to choose and use compost and mulch, how to care for your plants throughout the season, and when to harvest. Get the basics so you can have a great garden no matter how much experience you have!
Educator's Bio: Mila Fournier is a garden designer and educator with two decades of design experience that started with guerilla gardening in Brooklyn and has moved her through designing some of the most sophisticated gardens in NYC. Once in Ithaca, Mila has worked as an educator, designer, and horticultural consultant, including managing Ithaca Children's Garden and helping large developers create beautiful landscapes and habitats to offset new construction.
Our goal is to help our areas gardeners have access to this knowledge, free from financial barriers. We have several scholarship spots in each class. If you would like a scholarship spot, please reach out to Maria Christian at mjc72@cornell.edu
