Please join the students from ASRC 3205 Thinking Black Intellectuals as they present their work. This event is free and open to the public.
Presenters:
Kai Angela Arrindell is a Junior in the School of Hotel Administration, with an interest in Food and Beverage Management. Aside from her major, she is passionately involved in both The Women of Color Coalition and Phenomenon Step team.
Brianna Barrett is a Freshman in the College of Arts & Sciences intending on majoring in Government. She is interested in pursuing a career in either politics or public policy. This summer she will be interning for the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C.
Gelsey Beaubrun is a Senior in the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in English with a minor in French. Outside of academics, she is involved in Cornell Speech & Debate Union as well as Cornell Haitian Students Association. Ultimately, she hopes to pursue a career in law with an emphasis on immigration or civil rights.
Nathan Gelb-Dyller is a Junior majoring in English and in Linguistics. He is interested in questions of identity and of community, especially as pertaining to gender and sexuality, and their creation, mitigation, or destruction by institutions. Similarly, he is interested in inter- and intra- community reconstitution, alliance, and fracture."
Michelle Juma is a Junior majoring in Urban and Regional Studies in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. Aside from her interests in city planning and public policy creation, Michelle has pursued work in community organizing, mitigation, and social justice advocacy. Michelle aspires to become a City Planner and specialize in large-scale emergency response and prevention projects.
Ujuonu Nwizu is a Sophomore in the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in Africana Studies with a minor in Global Health. Outside of her academics, she is involved as an E-board member in the Women of Color Coalition as well as the Black Biomedical and Technical Association. Ultimately, she hopes to pursue a career in medicine with an emphasis on global health.
