Amir Ahmadi Arian is the author of several works of fiction and nonfiction in Persian. He also translated from English to Persian novels by Paul Auster, E.L. Doctorow, P.D. James, and Cormac McCarthy. His first novel in English, Then The Fish Swallowed Him, was published by HarperCollins in 2020. His essays and short stories have appeared in Harper's, The New York Times, NYRB, Paris Review, LRB, and elsewhere. His translation of Behrooz Bouchani's story collection from Persian to English will be published in 2026. He is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Binghamton University, New York.
 

Marie Chabin was born near Paris in 1969. After earning a degree in Interpretation & Translation in French-English-German, she got her start in translation in 1992 in the 'glamorous' world of romance books. Seeking to better align her work with her personal reading tastes, in 2010 she started translating noir novels and stories of magnificent losers. She has translated novels by Jodi Picoult, Marci Vogel, Barry Eisler, Charlotte McConaghy and J.R Lennon, along with journal essays and articles for various publications. She is also the author of a children’s book published by L’Harmattan, inspired by a long-term stay in Senegal. For the past few years, she’s been running translation workshops in local French high schools and libraries.
