Authors Ta-Nehisi Coates, Tayari Jones and Edwidge Danticat and U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo will join scholars from around the country to celebrate Toni Morrison M.A. ’55, as Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences hosts a reading of her first novel, “The Bluest Eye.”
This Feb. 19 reading is a repeat performance of our Oct. 8 event and includes 122 total readers in a full reading of the novel. This reading and a Feb. 18 roundtable discussion are parts of a two-day celebration of Morrison’s 90th birthday. Portions of The Bluest Eye will also be read in French, Spanish, Portuguese and German.
