Africana Studies and Research Center
310 Triphammer Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850, USA
The news of losing Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison on August 5, 2019 saddened many people around the world, whose literature she profoundly impacted. Her legacy will continue to inspire and teach audiences of readers for generations to come. At this upcoming tribute in the Africana Studies and Research Center, the speakers will share reflections on the life and work of this extraordinary author. We also welcome reflections from members of the audience, including students. It means so much that we will come together to celebrate her in Africana at Cornell, her alma mater where she earned a Master of Arts in English in 1955, and on the road to other upcoming campus and community celebrations of her. We deeply cherish our precious memories of her visits to campus over the years, and our special encounters with her in the ASRC. We invite you to join us and come be a part of this special program in her honor.
