The intriguing diversity of printmaking techniques—intaglio, relief, planographic, screenprint, monoprint, and more—is explored through works from the Johnson’s extraordinary collection of works on paper, with an eye to why artists choose certain techniques and how they use these tools to create a narrative.

This exhibition is curated by Nancy Green, the Gale and Ira Drukier Curator of European and American Art, Prints & Drawings, 1800–1945, with assistance from her interns Soo Won Jo ’15 and Christian Waibel ’17, and will be the subject of a Summer 2014 Cornell's Adult University course.
