"The Awakening of Spring" is Frank Wedekind's tragicomedy of teenage sex written in 1891, and censored in whole or part for more than half a century. Abortion, masturbation, rape, suicide, violence, homosexuality, repression and the dangerous chasm between ideologically imprisoned adults and innocent children on the brink of learning about the world is explored with originality and daring in this revolutionary play.
This will be the final project for PMA 3609.
