Rarely do audiences have the delight of witnessing ancient theatre in the original Latin. Students at Cornell make that possible with an original production of Terence’s “The Brothers,” a timeless tale of drastically different parenting styles. Demea (married) is a strict, authoritarian father to his son Ctesipho, while his brother Micio (unmarried) – to whom Demea entrusts his other son Aeschinus – is permissive and democratic. After a wild maze of mix-ups and deceptions, the plot unravels in expected – and unexpected – marriages. Enjoy this dramatic performance produced by Cornell undergrad and grad students!
