Half of the songbird species of the Western Hemisphere are in decline, including migratory birds that travel vast distances between breeding and wintering areas. This is a collaborative effort by scientists from across the Western Hemisphere to map the migratory routes of songbirds using genetic tools. Dr. Ruegg, will give an overview of this work and discuss how data can pinpoint key threats faced by migratory birds across their annual cycle. Free and open to the public.
