About this Event
Free EventWhat would Thanksgiving be without a turkey? There are 14,530 Tompkins County residents that are food insecure. One in seven individuals in the county are at risk of hunger and may find themselves without a turkey for the holidays.
Cornell Students for Hunger Relief, a program of the Public Service Center, is raising funds for Tompkins County food pantries so that they can provide turkeys to local families in need. In the past, we've successfully raised enough to feed hundreds of families for Thanksgiving. This year, donations will go to Groton Food Providers and Tompkins Community Action, a private, nonprofit, charitable organization that implements programs for more than 5000 individuals and over 300 families in Tompkins County.
Help us raise enough to purchase 410 turkeys for those in need this holiday!
The Drive ends Friday, November 16th. Please join us by volunteering with us or by making a contribution to our cause.
Like us on Facebook or email us at cornellhungerrelief@cornell.edu for updates and more information!
All hours spent tabling will be approved by the Public Service Center for community service hours.
