After Experimental Music is a symposium dedicated to exploring current perspectives on experimental music studies, and brings scholars, performers, and artist-practitioners from across North America to Cornell University. In addition to eighteen papers presented throughout the conference, the event includes a keynote address from George E. Lewis (Columbia), artist-practitioner talks by C. Spencer Yeh (NYC) and Marina Rosenfeld (NYC, Bard College), and performances by Lewis/Rosenfeld, Raven Chacon (Albuquerque), c_RL (Toronto), and Sarah Hennies (Ithaca).
This symposium is made possible with support from the Atkinson Forum in American Studies, in partnership with the Department of Music at Cornell University, Ithaca Underground, the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, and the Cornell Electroacoustic Music Centre. All events are free and open to the public.
