Some ancient cultures believed that herbs gathered for healing or magic on the Summer Solstice, or “Midsummer”, were the most potent. Come celebrate the longest day of the year and official start of summer with a tour of the Robison York State Herb Garden. We’ll learn about the Solstice itself, some seasonal plant lore, and the best techniques for growing and harvesting herbs in your own garden. We’ll finish with some refreshing herbal “sun tea”.
Fee: $5-10 suggested donation. Pre-registration required.
Instructor: Pam Shade, herb garden curator and Kevin Moss, adult education coordinator
Location: Meet at the Nevin Welcome Center
