Interdisciplinary artist and author Stephanie Sauer earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and founded Copilot Press in 2008. Sauer's critically-acclaimed volume, The Accidental Archives of the Royal Chicano Air Force (2016), is the first artist book to be published by the University of Texas Press. Her writing has appeared in Drunken Boat, Asymptote, PRISM International, Entropy, VerseDaily, Boom: A Journal of California, In These Times, and Lavender Review. She has exhibited her works at the De Young Museum, NYC Center for Book Arts, the National Library of Baghdad, Chicago Cultural Center, and Smithsonian Institution. She is a co-founding editor of A Bolha Editora in Brazil and a visiting lecturer at the San Francisco Art Institute.
