With temperatures and snow falling, winter is a perfect time to enjoy hot, hearty soups at mealtimes! By making homemade soups and meals using slow cookers and Instant Pots, you can choose your ingredients for a healthier option that is highly nutritious and cost effective.
Led by CCE Seneca Master Food Preservers and Nutrition staff through hands-on demonstrations, participants will learn how to prepare homemade soups and stews from scratch using crock pots and Instant Pots. This will include making their own stock along with how to safely can and freeze it for later enjoyment.
The workshop will also discuss the differences between slow cookers (crock pots) and Instant Pots. Recipes and ideas for vegetarians and meat lovers using both will be provided.
During the workshop, participants will be served a bowl or two of soup for tasting. Recipes and other materials will also be provided to take home.
