Andrew Gossen, the senior director of social media strategy for Alumni Affairs, will discuss his background in social media, what's hot in the field, his work at Cornell, and some best practices in the use of social media.

Andrew Gossen's Twitter bio describes him as an "Anthropologist-turned-social media strategist working with Big Red alumni at the intersection of technology, communication, and community."

The Cornell Chronicle elaborates: "Gossen, who joined Cornell in January, has spent the past eight years at Princeton pioneering new approaches to alumni education, volunteer leadership training and reunion programming. With a Ph.D. in social anthropology from Harvard, he is known in the industry for developing an iPhone application for Princeton's reunion, (Chris) Marshall said. 'The fact that we got him here is a coup. He's a wonder-kid."

Currently, Gossen is spearheading a comprehensive effort to integrate social media and mobile technology into AAD's strategic plan.
