This training is IN PERSON at CCE Madison, 100 Eaton St., Morrisville. In the event of inclement weather, I will send a Zoom link and we will do it online, but only as a last resort.
Volunteers must submit an application which includes a background check, code of conduct and more. Once you register, Patty will contact you to discuss the paperwork!
The Seed to Supper program is a beginning gardening course that gives novice gardeners the knowledge they need to grow their own food and save money at the grocery store. Volunteers are needed at the Canastota Library location and the CCE Madison location to help deliver Power Point presentations on gardening topics, to students. Presentations are already created! You only have to review the class materials and deliver the class. Afterwards, volunteers (you) will also lead a 30 minute hands-on activity. It is important that you come to the training to familiarize yourself with the resources at your disposal including the hands-on activities.
The Teaching GardenĀ is located behind CCE Madison at 100 Eaton Street, Morrisville and is a living classroom with raised garden beds S2S students can adopt and grow food in all season long. Volunteers are important in the garden too and can help with its maintenance and use it as a teaching space.
