"Power and Communality : Aging and Elderly Care in Northern Thailand"

From July 2016 to January 2017, I have been conducting fieldwork in Chiang Mai, Thailand on issues of aging and care in present-day Thai society. Visiting elderly homes and communities both in the city and in rural settings, I am looking at how Thai society is beginning to tackle the emergent issue of rapid aging population, and how the elderly are experiencing this. The talk will be about some of my findings.
