"Science on Tap!" aims to make science accessible to everyone. We will bring a diverse set of speakers studying a range of research topics from Cornell into the community who will present their research in an authentic but also engaging and understandable way.

During our special “Summer Series” sessions you will hear from two early-career scientists who are actively involved in the latest and greatest research going on just up the hill as they explain how their studies relate to real world issues.

So, come grab a drink, sit back, relax, get informed and join us this month for "The Science of Innovation: drawing links between basic research and rea-world applications" with:

Dr. Andrea Acevedo, Recent Grad in Biophysics
“Living machines: how the study and manipulation of proteins can be used to advance treatments for human disease and other technologies!”

and

Dr. Kamalika Chatterjee, Postdoc in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
“Have a safe flight: studying the mechanical deformation of aircraft metal to design engine parts that will keep you lifted!”

Brought to you by: Graduate Women in Science Cornell & Northstar House

Funded by: Cornell's Office of Postdoctoral Studies, Cornell BEST and OISE.

Please contact Tisha Bohr at tbohr@cornell.edu for any special arrangements you may require to attend the event.
