About this Event
Risley Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853, USA
Every December before finals week, Risley Residential College for the Creative and Performing Arts holds one of its most iconic and beloved events of the year: a full and open reading of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah.
This event draws all sorts of members from the Cornell and Ithaca communities (as well as beyond) to come together to perform the famed piece in Risley’s Great Hall, a tradition entering its forty-fifth year. You can participate in the orchestra, be a part of the chorus, or simply listen in and enjoy. People of all backgrounds are warmly welcome!
If you are interested in playing in the orchestra, please contact Mario Carrillo at mc2239@cornell.edu to see what openings there are for your instrument. If you wish to sing in the chorus, simply join the audience! All music will be provided.
This year, Messiah will be on Sunday, December 4th at 1pm, followed by a small reception. Rehearsals will be on November 30th (7:30pm-10pm) and December 3th (11am-3pm). Any questions or comments can be directed to Mario or Tatyana Carrillo (tmc265@cornell.edu).
We hope to see you there!
