CCE Essex's Farm to School Program is offering Refrigerator Pickle Seed Kits to students in Essex County! These kits will contain five seed packets: beets, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, banana peppers, and a small amount of potting soil. These seeds can be grown in a raised bed, a container garden, or directly in the ground. We'll provide instructions and videos for seed starting, transplanting, direct seeding, tending to your vegetables, harvesting your vegetables. After harvesting your vegetables we'll host two live classes teaching you how to make refrigerator pickles. Early summer we'll host one for cucumber and radish pickles and in the late summer/early fall we'll host one for beets, carrots, and peppers.
