Eunice, Class of 1949, and Herbert Shatzman have collected work by ceramic artists for decades. This exhibition will highlight their most recent acquisitions, modern and contemporary pieces by a distinguished group of international artists, including Kato Takahiko, Karl Scheid, Dieter Crumbiegel, Hiroshi Nakayama, Mario Enke, and others. Highly experimental in their abstracted forms and expressive glazing, these pieces read as modern sculpture, outgrowths of the artist's fertile imagination.
