Quarterly Health Campaign – Diabetes, what should I know?
Sunday, November 23, 2025 11:30am to 12pm
About this Event
November is Diabetes Awareness month. Diabetes has become the fastest-growing chronic disease in the world. Nationwide, over 38 million people have diabetes and nearly 98 million have prediabetes. In the last 20 years, the number of Americans with diagnosed diabetes has more than doubled. However, there are simple steps we can take to reverse this trend. We can raise our level of awareness about diabetes, helping to prevent some types of diabetes from occurring, or managing diabetes to regain control of blood sugar, possibly even regressing the condition in some cases.
- Open to the entire Cornell community, no Wellness membership is needed

Diabetes and Added Sugars – Engage with Kerry in this fun challenge. Raise your own awareness of the added sugars you consume by totaling them up for one day during the week. Be a detective and use food labels or internet searches to discover the added sugars in the foods and drinks you take in. Additional information on the relationship between added sugars and diabetes will be shared with folks who indicate their interest in participating in this part of the campaign on the registration form
