A collection of eggs painted in the Ukrainian pysanky tradition by artist Lori Radcliff-Woods is on display in the Deans Room on Mann Library’s 2nd floor through April 2025.

Ukrainians have been decorating eggs for centuries. Pysanky design motives date back to pre-Christian times, and while the symbols have remained through the ages, interpretations have changed in a process of religious syncretism.

Artist Radcliff-Woods is an administrative assistant in the Institute for Resource Information Sciences. Having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography from SUNY Empire State College, Radcliff-Woods got hooked on the artistry of pysanky eggs in a workshop taken during in her early 20’s and has been creating these beautiful gems ever since.

This exhibit will be on display at Mann Library through April 30, 2025.
