Profiling Trayvon & Rachel: Race, Gender, and Criminalization

On September 17th at  4:45 the Africana Studies and Research Center, located at 310 Triphammer Rd will host a round table discussion titled, "Profiling Trayvon & Rachel: Race, Gender and Criminalization." The panelists-Carole Boyce Davies, Oneka LaBennett, and Riche' Richardson and the moderator- Noliwe Rooks are all core faculty in Africana Studies and many have written and spoken publicly about the multiple ways that race and gender complicated all aspects of the case. This town-hall type discussion and roundtable will continue some of those conversations and provide a space for students, staff, faculty and community members to participate as well. We hope you will join us.

This panel is part of the colloquium series "Scholarship & Activism: The Black Radical Intellectual Tradition" organized by the Africana Studies & Research Center"
