Pressure Canning: $10.00 per person. Payment must be received in advance. If you can't make the class, we will open up spots for others. You can pay online now using Paypal (you do not need a Paypal account to use this method), the system is slow, please do not hit the button more than once or you will be registered twice!

This program will help you learn the basics of Pressure Canning by demonstrating how to prepare and can a low-acid food item (probably meat depending on what's available). Pressure canning is used in low-acid foods such as meats, green beans, squash and corn. This class will give you the confidence to continue pressure canning in your own home. Bring your questions and be prepared to help with the process. Participants can return to the First Baptist Church in Brookfield at a later date to take home a jar of their canned item after they have cooled. Betty Clark is a Master Preserver Volunteer with many years of experience with canning. If you own a pressure canner and would like the gauge tested, you can bring it to this class for testing!

Join us August 24th from 10am-1pm at the First Baptist Church in Brookfield located at 2416 Beaver Creek Road, Brookfield.

Please contact Patty Stimmel with any questions at 315-684-3001 ext. 108 or patriciamae@cornell.edu
