Presidential Inauguration: Academic Symposium, “Universities and the Search for Truth”

This faculty panel discussion will explore the ways in which people assess and communicate information, as well as the role of universities in those activities.

Moderated by Bruce Lewenstein, professor of science communication.

Panelists include:

  • Kevin Clermont, the Robert D. Ziff Professor of Law
  • Sarah Murray, associate professor of linguistics
  • Mor Naaman, associate professor of information science at Cornell Tech
  • Holly Prigerson, the Irving Sherwood Wright Professor in Geriatrics and professor of sociology in medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine
  • David Shalloway, the Greater Philadelphia Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics
  • Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon, associate professor of English

Installation Ceremony

Please join us for the inauguration ceremony of Martha E. Pollack, the 14th president of Cornell University

The procession will start at Ho Plaza at 2 p.m. and make its way to the Arts Quad. University leadership, trustees, faculty, staff, students and delegates representing other universities will process.

There are no tickets required for this event. However, guests are asked to be in their seats no later than 1:45 p.m.

The ceremony will be livestreamed on CornellCast.

Please note: The rain location for the inauguration ceremony will be Bailey Hall, where seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
