The Cornell Political Theory Workshop is hosting a public talk by Onur Ulas Ince, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Singapore Management University titled "The Challenge of Colonial Capitalism: A Materialist Approach to Liberalism and Empire." His presentation will explore the contradictory and constitutive relationship between capitalism, liberalism, and empire, bridging Ince's recently published book, Colonial Capitalism and the Dilemmas of Liberalism (Oxford University Press, 2018) and his new book in progress, Between Commerce and Empire: Capitalism and the Limits of Anti-Imperial Critique.
