Unfortunately, the Plants and the Winter Solstice Tours at the Cornell Botanic Gardens scheduled for Friday have been cancelled. Our lead tour guide who carries the wealth of winter garden plant knowledge and lore is unexpectedly away this week. So, we aren't able to offer these educational tours as advertised.

As the sun reaches its lowest arc in our sky, signaling the longest night (and shortest daytime) of the year, come join us for a special tour of the Mullestein Winter Garden. Learn how some plants cope with winter’s cold, discover a variety of plants with winter beauty, and learn some of the cultural lore surrounding plants associated with the Winter Solstice. After the walk, enjoy some refreshments in the warmth of the Nevin Welcome Center and do some holiday shopping in our gift shop!  The tour will be offered twice; please sign up for either the morning or afternoon tour.  In the event of severe weather, the program will be held indoors.

Fee: $18 general admission

Instructors: Emily Norsen, Horticulturist; Brandon Dunham, Horticulturist; Kara Peet, Student & Public Education Coordinator

Location: Meet at the Nevin Welcome Center
