Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County is offering this workshop for beekeepers with 0-3 years of experience and for anyone looking for a refresher on disease prevention and detection of this important pollinator.

Honey bees have been experiencing serious challenges to hive health. Beekeepers who attend will learn about Varroa mite biology, impacts on bee health, and associated viruses, how to monitor and control Varroa mites in New York, AFB identification and control, including new FDA regulations for antibiotics in the US.

In addition, participants will receive a Varroa mite and American Foulbrood presentation manual, an American Foulbrood test kit, an American Foulbrood poster and a Drone comb frame for Varroa mite management. Seating is limited and pre-registration is strongly recommended.

Pre-register by November 8th here. Contact Cathy Moore at 315-788-8450 or cmm17@cornell.edu, or check out the informational PDF.
