Oxfam’s Experience with Sustainable Rice Production in Asia and Africa: Supply Chains, Women, and SRI

Le Minh, the global agriculture advisor for Oxfam, works on Oxfam’s mission to promote a world free of poverty and injustice. Her work has concentrated on improving livelihoods and income security for the rural poor in various countries in Asia. She also leads Oxfam’s efforts to contribute to the development of the global norms for sustainable rice and calling for responsible practices by agribusiness.

Le Minh has been an active member of the global System of Rice Intensification (SRI) community for well over a decade. She helped network SRI groups in Vietnam and Cambodia, published on SRI, and continues to highlight the role of SRI in sustainable rice production at international conferences. Prior joining Oxfam, she held positions with various international development organizations, including DFID, World Bank and FAO.
