As technology and the economy continue to accelerate societal developments, rapid changes in many aspects are transforming the relationship between individuals and their surroundings. Although the fast-paced lifestyle fueled the evolutionary turbulence, we simultaneously lost the balance between the individuals and the ecological nature they belong to. Overload from environmental and cognitive perspectives has significant negative impacts on humans’ well-being in modern society and challenges external and internal welfare. The exhibition presents various visual sets, including outfits, accessories, and interactive props, to bring awareness to environmental and cognitive overload challenges and advocates to refocus on organic serenity.

The exhibit was curated by Wenjia Zong MA '22 and Ruobai Xiao MS '23 and funded by a generous grant from the Cornell Council for the Arts.
