New York State 4-H Virtual Capital Days - Rockland County Cohort

Join youth from Rockland County and throughout New York State for the 86th annual New York State 4-H Capital Days Program!

When: 6:00pm - 7:00pm, April 27 - April 29, 2021

Who: Youth ages 13 - 19 (as of Jan 1)

Cost: $25 per participant. Includes t-shirt and other materials

The objectives of the 4-H Capital Days program are:

  • To achieve a better understanding of the New York State policy process.

  • To gain a better understanding of state and local government connections.

  • To provide delegates the opportunity to meet with legislators and tell their 4-H stories.

  • To create an awareness of career opportunities within the New York State Government and Public Service.

  • To meet and exchange experiences with delegates from other counties.

Department Visits: In selecting department visits, youth participants will be asked for first, second and third choices. Please note that the visits are planned on a first–come, first–served basis, there is a limit on the number allowed for each agency. We do our best to accommodate requests; however, participants are required to attend the visit assigned.

Choices include:

  • New York State’s Department of Agriculture & Markets

  • Department of Parks & Recreation

  • Department of Education

  • Department of Environmental Conservation.

Department of Corrections will be giving a presentation to the group as a
whole on Judicial night.

Cancellation/Participant and Program Change Policy: After April 2nd and t-shirts are ordered, there will be no refunds for cancellations or no-shows. We will allow participant substitutions (will get t-shirt size previously ordered) by April 16th before the 4-H Capital Days event.
