Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County and Link Maple Farm or Taberg, NY are partnering to offer an Introduction to Cultivated Mushroom Workshop on Saturday afternoon (12-3 pm), June 10th, 2017.
The workshop will be held at Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County, 121 Second Street, Oriskany, NY. The cost of the workshop is $25 per person, which includes handouts, materials and an inoculated log.
Join Ken Mudge a retired Associate Professor emeritus from the Department of Horticulture at Cornell University and co-author “ Farming the Woods”, for an afternoon presentation on successful cultivation of shiitake, oyster, lions mane, and stropharia mushrooms for home or small-farm scale production. Learn the proper tree species and techniques for cultivation, along with the basic economics and mattering of gourmet specialty mushrooms.
Students will get to inoculate their own log to take home! “Farming the Woods” will be available for sale.
Youth may participate in the program as long as they are accompanied by an adult. This adult should complete the registration in their name ( Not the name of the youth.)
