Meet Your Farmer: Featherbed Lane Farm

Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:30am to 1:00pm

Featherbed Lane Farm 35 Featherbed Ln, Ballston Spa, NY 12020

Join farmer Tim Biello to learn more about his vegetable and livestock farm that is run in large part with draft horse power. Featherbed Lane Farm has five acres in vegetable production, and strives to run a successful farm business that produces nutritious foods, builds soil, cares for their livestock, stewards the land, respects employees, and contributes to its community. They run a 90 member free choice CSA and farm stand. Farmers are welcome to come with questions about CSA management, crop planning and marketing for the CSA, farming with draft horses, or any other details of interest.

The field days in this series are open farm days intended to strengthen the connection between farmers and their surrounding communities. Meet Your Farmer events uplift how NOFA-NY farms prioritize the health of people and planet through ecologically sound innovations, and show the impact of purchasing directly from farmers. This open farm day starts with an hour that is focused on production and is intended for farmers, gardeners, or anyone interested in the technical aspects of farming. The remaining time is open to the public and includes a farm tour and information on ways to connect with regional food and farm businesses.

Registration is required. Space is limited.
