Math Awareness Month is held each year in April.  Its goal is to increase public understanding of and appreciation for mathematics. To that end, Cornell's Department of Mathematics sponsors an annual public lecture. To learn more about Awareness Month and its history, click here.

The Math Department will be hosting a Math Awareness Month Public Lecture with Dr. Tim Chartier from Davidson College on April 19th, 2024.  The lecture title is "Get in the Game:  data analytics via sports".  This will attract not just those interested in mathematics, but sports enthusiasts as well.  Additionally, Professor Chartier and his wife will be performing their mathematical "Mime-matics" at The Cherry Arts on Saturday, April 20th.  Ticketing information will be posted soon at the MAM website.
