The 3rd annual Local Food, Fiber and Energy Fair taking place at Mann Library on Thursday, November 17, 2011 will feature over 30 participating farmers, vendors and programs.
The day’s events will feature a festive open market in the Mann Lobby from 2-5pm, showcasing a rich sampling of Finger Lakes food and fiber products as well as several innovative efforts to support individual, family and community health and resilience. New this year is the addition of an “energy” theme, highlighting efforts to strengthen community and regional capacities for sustainably meeting energy needs through conservation and local renewable sources.
Following the open market, a free screening of the film "Greenhorns" will take place at 6:30 pm in Room 160 of Mann Library. After the film, panel discussions and community conversations will take place identifying barriers and opportunities faced by new farmers, and strategies for supporting new farmers in their work to create a healthy and resilient local food systems.
Both the open market fair and the film screening are free and open to the public—please join us!
