Help! I Want to Make a Video!
The prevalence of science-themed videos – in journals, at conferences, and across social media – has exploded in the past decade. For researchers accustomed to telling scientific stories through presentations and journal articles, transitioning those stories effectively to a short video format can be intimidating. In this talk, I aim to demystify both the science communication process and its application to filmmaking. Drawing on examples and experience from my own work as a science communicator and YouTuber, I’ll discuss the full process of developing and producing scientific videos for both technical and general audiences.
