The Cornell AWM chapter (Association for Women in Math) hosted the first Julia Robinson Festival at Cornell University on February 29, 2020.  The 2025 JRMF will be held March 15, 2025. "The Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival empowers communities to create magical math moments.  We create fun math experiences, develop math games, and train educators how to inspire joy with math".  This event is a mathematical experience and inspiration for youth hosted by The Cornell AWM chapter (Association for Women in Math).  Kindergarten through 10th graders participate in mathematical games and activities in a collaborative small group setting facilitated by Cornell undergraduate and graduate student organizers and volunteers.

The scheduled speaker is Professor Moon Duchin.  Her research focuses on discrete geometry and randomized models, with applications to the study of voting and democracy.  Duchin has developed mathematics models to analyze the potential and actual outcomes of changes to policy and voting districts.

For information on the history of the JRMF and what it's all about go to Home | JRMF.  The Cornell Math Department has just begun planning for this event.  For updates on this event including registration information continue checking the JRMF website events section.  We expect registration and information to be updated in late January/early February 2025.
