Cornell students with an interest in real estate are invited to attend a presentation and Q&A with Joel Breitkopf, principal of Alchemy Properties.
Breitkopf has been in the real estate industry for his entire 33-year career. Alchemy Properties is one of the most active and reputable residential development companies in New York City, having developed or redeveloped more than 30 buildings in the last 20 years. Alchemy is currently completing the residential conversion of the national landmark Woolworth Building Tower to luxury condominiums with SLCE Architects and the Office of Thierry Despont.
Breitkopf is involved in all aspects of Alchemy's developments and investments including acquisition, finance, design, construction, marketing, and strategic planning and is a principal of Alchemy — ABR Investment Partners, which acquires and builds existing commercial buildings in select major markets. He has financed well over $2 billion worth of real estate transactions and has acquired more than 3.5 million square feet of real estate during his career. He has lectured at the Yale University School of Architecture, the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton Graduate School of Business, and has been an adjunct professor at New York University's master's program in real estate. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in economics.
