About this Event
Olive Tjaden Gallery, Tjaden Hall
Money Doesn't Grow on Trees presents the inadequately discussed disparity between the cultural aesthetic of the American economy and the true reality of our consumption. Each work seeks to explore this incongruity throughout society, from agribusiness, to land use, and corporate green-washing. The dissonance pervades our daily lives, families, meals, health, and homes. The works seek to elicit a mass consideration and uncovering of hidden realities and brutal reminders of what lies underneath the surface of tidy store packaging. Money Doesn't Grow on Trees features work from Isabelle McDonald (B.F.A./B.A. '23).
Special thanks to art faculty sponsor Visiting Associate Professor Renate Ferro.
Masks must be worn at all times in the Tjaden and Experimental Galleries.
