Cornell's fall 2015 Introduction to Printmaking class explored the art of printmaking through dry point, etching, and aquatint, as well as wood block printing and monoprinting. This exhibition shows the progression of technique by the students through the exploration of various relationships such as the interaction of the ink and the paper, the dynamic between color and line, and the juxtaposition of different materials in collage pieces. The art is somewhat structured around creative prompts from instructor Alva Mooses, but each student had the opportunity to show their own individual style and unique perspective, while also working collaboratively to bring various creative elements together.
