Ever since Into the Streets’ founding in 1991, this student-led program of the Cornell Public Service Center has been responsible for planning and executing Cornell’s largest day of service for students. Every year, hundreds of Cornellians volunteer in Ithaca and throughout Tompkins County, working on projects at over 30 local non-profit agencies and gaining exposure to some of the issues that are affecting the local community.  

Into the Streets encourages participants to use the day of service as a catalyst for forming meaningful relationships with the local community and developing a lifelong commitment to community engagement as active citizens.

Into the Streets enters its 27th year with even greater passion and determination for active engagement in the community. This year, Into the Streets will take place on Friday, October 26, from 12-4 PM and Saturday, October 27, from 12-4 PM with a kick-off event beginning at 10 AM.
